Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.34%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr), which rose 3.69% or 0.26 points to trade at 7.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) added 3.20% or 0.80 points to end at 25.80 and Holding Company ADMIE IPTO SA (AT:ADMr) was up 3.15% or 0.08 points to 2.45 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr), which fell 2.78% or 0.03 points to trade at 1.05 at the close. Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA) declined 2.38% or 0.05 points to end at 1.89 and Ideal Group SA (AT:IDEr) was down 2.37% or 0.14 points to 5.77.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 61 to 57 and 17 ended unchanged.

Shares in Holding Company ADMIE IPTO SA (AT:ADMr) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.15% or 0.08 to 2.45.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.23% or 5.99 to $2,664.49 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.35% or 1.60 to hit $69.70 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.16% or 1.55 to trade at $73.38 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 106.24.
